In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, Caleb Love confirms he will play for Michigan basketball, Hunter Dickinson won’t, and much more.

People love to start rumors, and a bunch have been going around about Caleb Love potentially not joining the Michigan basketball team next season.

To be fair, Love hasn’t been announced by the Michigan Wolverines and until that happens, I won’t say it’s 100 percent certain, but Love did take to Twitter to refute the rumors and said he would be playing for Michigan basketball next season.

That’s as strong an affirmation as it gets. It sounds like there are some things to figure out or some credits that need to be taken, but Love would be wise to do it and play for Juwan Howard.

Almost every player at Michigan basketball has improved their NBA draft stock over the past few years and Love could put himself back into first-round contention with a good season.

That guaranteed contract is worth a helluva lot more than some NIL deal, no matter how rich it is and that’s probably why Love is still planning on playing for Michigan basketball.

Hunter Dickinson to Kansas

Even though Hunter Dickinson’s announcement video was annoying and unnecessary (the hype doesn’t meet the player which is crazy cause he’s damn good), Kansas was a good fit.

The Jayhawks will be in the mix for the Final Four and they also offered the biggest NIL deal, at least that’s what I have to assume. There was chatter that Kentucky really wasn’t competitive with NIL and make no mistake, that was about money as much as winning.

I wish Hunter the best. He was a great player and he helped Michigan win a Big Ten title and reach the Sweet 16 twice. Ultimately, his time feels like a disappointment though.

I still feel that maybe this will be good for Michigan basketball in the long run. There could be some short-term pain but the bigger loss this offseason remains Kobe Bufkin.
