Offensive Line

Who will be blocking for those talented running backs? Michigan’s offensive line is coming off back-to-back Joe Moore awards, the trophy given to the nation’s best offensive line. Can they make it three in a row? It sure seems like it.

The Wolverines lose Rimington and Outland Trophy winner Olu Oluwatimi. You simply don’t replace that stalwart, but the Wolverine’s staff is confident they have a gem in former Stanford team captain, Drake Nugent, who transferred to Michigan football with 24 starts under his belt. Zak Zinter and Trevor Keegan are penciled in at the guard positions after starting the last two years.

Michigan football also picked up LaDarius Henderson from Arizona State in the transfer portal. The talented tackle was projected by some sites to be a late first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

Instead, he’ll bring much-needed size and a nasty streak to the Wolverines’ offensive line. Throw in center Greg Crippen, right tackle Trente Jones, Karsen Barnhart, and Giovanni El-Hadi, all of who garnered valuable experience last season, and there’s little doubt this is the deepest and most talented offensive line Michigan football has had in the last decade.

This sounds ludicrous considering all the hardware the unit has collected over the last two years. But the Wolverines are legitimately 2-deep at every position on the line.
