Michigan football got news on a couple of fronts on the recruiting trail on Tuesday and here’s the latest for the Wolverines.
Things have been going spectacularly well for Michigan football on the recruiting trail recently and after hosting several recruits over the weekend for the spring game, more good news is on the way.
At least that’s what it seems. It starts with one of the best offensive tackles in the 2024 class — Andrew Sprague.
The ninth-ranked offensive tackle is out of Kansas City, Missouri. He visited Michigan football for the spring game and has been trending with crystal ball projections to the Wolverines.
Sprague is 6-foot-8, 290 pounds, and ranked 160th overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings and also fourth in the state of Missouri.
On Tuesday, the elite offensive tackle prospect announced he would be making his commitment known on Friday, April 7th.
All signs are pointing in the right direction for the Wolverines here and with the commitment coming right after a slew of projections from all of the recruiting sites, it’s pretty easy to see where this is headed.

Things can change. But if you were an offensive lineman, why wouldn’t you want to play for Michigan football? It’s become a factory for NFL talent and that’s not going to change anytime soon, especially landing guys like Sprague.
Michigan football cracks top five for Brandon Davis-Swain
The Wolverines also made the top five when it comes to one of the top targets in the state of Michigan for 2024 as Brandon Davis-Swain included U-M along with USC, Purdue, Auburn, and Colorado.
Davis-Swain is the fourth-ranked player in the state of Michigan and the 6-foot-4, 240-pounder out of West Bloomfield is ranked 146th overall in the 247 sports composite rankings.

It’s an interesting top five. Michigan football has hosted Davis-Swain as much as any other program (four times). The Wolverines are also the slight leader according to the On3 prediction machine but the percentage is just 25.8.
Purdue is a team to watch and the Boilermakers are the only program with an official visit scheduled right now. We’ll see where the rest of those visits go, but this feels like a winnable recruitment for the Wolverines even if it’s far from a slam dunk.
