Michigan basketball is looking for power forwards in the transfer portal and there’s a new name that makes a lot of sense for the Wolverines, plus more on B.J. Mack.

Things are starting to heat up when it comes to the recruitment of B.J. Mack. Michigan basketball cracked his top 10 and it was reported that the Wolverines performed an in-home visit.

The 6-foot-8 power forward, Mack, would be a great fit for Michigan basketball. He’s got a low-post game that would fit in the Big Ten and he is also a stellar 3-point shooter.

Mack shot the ball better in 2021-22 than he did this past season, but he took a higher volume of shots this past season for Wofford.

At any rate, Mack has a number of pursuers and Michigan basketball is one of six teams to do an in-home visit. The Wolverines also did a Zoom call with Mack last week.

Butler, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, and Iowa are the others that got in-home visits. Mack is expected to take visits sometime after the Final Four and it will be interesting to see if Michigan basketball gets one of those.

As of right now, there seems like a good chance and my guess is that the Wolverines are near the top of this recruitment. We’ll know more after he takes visits but Michigan is in the mix.

Another potential transfer target for Michigan basketball

Former five-star PF/C Yohan Traore entered the transfer portal Tuesday and he’s a guy that Michigan basketball was among the favorites for during his recruitment.

Traore struggled this past season at Auburn and didn’t play much. He only averaged 2.1 points per game and this addition won’t be about production.

However, Juwan has proven to be on of the best when it comes to developing big guys and he could do wonders with Traore who does have the ability to shoot and has a ton of untapped potential. He’s not a big-time 3-point shooter or anything but he can do more than score around the basket.

Traore is another guy that seems like a fit to me with or without Hunter Dickinson on the roster next season and I’ll be interested to see if the Wolverines reach out to him in the coming days.
