Michigan football continues its recruiting momentum with its third commitment in the past week and the second from Ohio after landing Ben Roebuck.

The Michigan football program is rolling on the recruiting trail and the momentum continued to build on Wednesday with the commitment of three-star offensive lineman Ben Roebuck.

Roebuck was on campus last weekend and the 6-foot-7, 320-pound offensive tackle out of Lakewood, Ohio, pledged one day after Michigan football landed the commitment of four-star running back Jordan Marshall.

The 455th overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings, is the 15th-ranked player in the state of Ohio.

Unlike Marshall, Roebuck didn’t have an offer from Ohio State, but the Wolverines still landed their third commitment from the Buckeye state this cycle.

Here’s what the 2024 offensive tackle told 247 sports about Michigan football prior to his commitment to the Wolverines.

"“First time I stepped foot on campus, it felt like home,” Roebuck said. “Everything about the school, the academics, the history, the dominance. It’s just the perfect fit. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, which really made it feel like home.”"

In terms of what the Wolverines are getting in the massive offensive tackle, here’s the scouting report from his high school coach via 247 sports.

"“Well he’s extremely intelligent first off,” St. Edward head coach Tom Lombardo said. “He understands schemes really well. He’s a physical blocker, finishes his blocks and is getting even better at that. We saw glimpses of that as a sophomore, but then last year, against good players he was dominant frankly and so we started to see it, even more, this year.”"

With the commitment of Roebuck and Marshall, Michigan football now has the third-ranked class in the 2024 class via the 247 sports team rankings. The Wolverines have nine commitments total and six of them are ranked as four-star prospects.

Roebuck is a three-star. However, as a top-500 prospect, he’s got a good upside. Michigan football also has shown it can take raw offensive line talents and turn them into high-level players. I wouldn’t be shocked if that happened once again here with Roebuck.

Either way, getting a quality player from Ohio is always a good thing for the Wolverines.
