Michigan football is hosting a number of elite recruits this weekend. Here are three that the Wolverines must eventually land.

It’s not hyperbolic to call it a huge recruiting weekend for Michigan football as the Wolverines are hosting a number of priority targets when it comes to the 2024 class.

It’s not an official visit weekend but it’s important all the same. Michigan football is hosting Jadyn Davis and a number of other blue-chip prospects.

They are all important, but some targets are higher on the board than others, and here are three on campus this weekend that Michigan football needs to get in the 2024 class.

5-star QB Jadyn Davis

I’m sure you’re shocked by this selection but Davis is still the top overall target for the Wolverines in the 2024 class. Michigan football didn’t land a top-100 quarterback in either of the past two classes — which makes it even more important in 2024.

You can find quality quarterbacks in the transfer portal. However, it would be nice to have J.J. McCarthy’s successor waiting in the wings. Ideally, that would be Davis and if McCarthy decides to leave for the NFL draft after this season, he could have a shot at the job.

I’m sure Michigan would bring in a veteran but Davis has to like the situation, especially under head coach Jim Harbaugh. This will be his first extended visit with Kirk Campbell as the quarterbacks’ coach, so that’s a final question that needs to be answered.

Yet, there’s no doubt, Michigan needs to close with Davis because you can only be the favorite for so long without a commitment.

4-star RB Jordan Marshall

When it comes to top targets, few are higher on the board than Ohio running back Jordan Marshall. He’s ranked seventh in the 2024 class among running backs according to the 247 sports composite rankings. He’s also the second-best player in Ohio and 83rd overall.

Michigan football has been making some headway in the state of Ohio, yet the Wolverines haven’t landed an elite player that Ohio State also really wanted.

The Buckeyes are pushing with Marshall and there’s no doubt that Michigan football and Ohio State both want him badly.

As Michigan, you have to feel good because the Wolverines boast one of the best offensive lines in college football and that’s not likely to change in the coming years. Plus, there is a strong commitment to running the ball.

There aren’t any crystal ball projections for Marshall yet Michigan is in a great spot. He’s making his fourth visit this weekend and has an official visit scheduled for June.

Michigan has landed some big-time backs in recent cycles in Donovan Edwards and Cole Cabana, but this would be as big as any.

Brady Prieskorn

When it comes to-must land targets for Michigan football in the 2024 class, Brady Prieskorn certainly fits the bill.

The in-state tight end is 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, and exactly the kind of kid you can see playing for Michigan football. While the Wolverines have a great reputation for being RBU — the tight ends are also really productive.

Luke Schoonmaker is going to get drafted by day two this year and Colston Loveland is also going to be an early-round pick.

It shouldn’t be too hard to convince Prieskorn to join that pipeline. He’s a basketball player and also the second-ranked player in the state of Michigan in 2024, as well as 59th overall and third among tight ends.

This will be his fourth visit to campus. Michigan football is the crystal ball leader right now and the On3 prediciton machine gives the Wolverines a 92-percent chance to land the elite tight end.

We’ll see if this weekend helps in the effort to land Prieskorn, Davis, Marshall, and the others.
