After a jam-packed recruiting weekend for Michigan football, there are some new crystal ball projections and a key development in the 2023 class.

There were a bunch of recruits on campus visiting the Michigan football program over the weekend and already, it’s looking like those visits are going to yield positive results.

Aaron Chiles is a four-star linebacker that’s ranked inside the top 100 of the 247 sports composite rankings for the 2024 class at 88th overall. He’s 6-foot-3, 220 pounds out of Olney, Maryland, and following another visit this weekend, the Wolverines are trending with crystal balls.

Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports, their top recruiting analyst, put in a prediction for Michigan football land Chiles and it was followed by a couple more including Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider.

Chiles is the seventh-ranked linebacker overall in the 2024 class and it would be a huge addition for the Wolverines, who have struggled to land top-100 commitments since the inception of NIL.

Chris Partridge has taken over in this recruitment as the primary recruiter and it looks like that hire is paying off already as the elite recruiter is poised to land an elite recruit in Chiles.

Another top-100 target projected to Michigan football

Chiles wasn’t the only top-100 recruit to receive a projection to the Wolverines as Lamason Walker, who is ranked 99th overall by the 247 sports specific rankings in 2025, got a crystal ball prediction for Michigan football.

Walker is 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, and is ranked as the ninth-best athlete. He caught 64 passes for 1,057 yards last season in high school and also caught 15 touchdowns. Additionally, he notched 36 tackles and intercepted two passes.

Marich also put in a crystal ball prediction for Walker, so this is another good sign for the Wolverines as they continue to build momentum in the 2024 and 2025 classes.

Michigan football could be adding to the 2023 class

All of a sudden, the Wolverines could be adding to their 2023 recruiting haul as Brandyn Hillman, a 2023 Notre Dame signee asked out of his letter of intent.

The Irish obliged and he’s back on the market. There are some other teams in contention but Michigan offered soon after and the Wolverines feel like one of the favorites.

Hillman is 6-foot-1, 191 pounds, and is ranked 214th overall in the 2023 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings. He doesn’t have any crystal ball projections yet the Wolverines just offered along with Wisconsin.

LSU, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Cincinnati are also interested, so Michigan is going to have plenty of competition, but it’s a great opportunity to add a blue-chip talent and it’s something else to keep an eye on for U-M fans.
