Gut reactions as Michigan Basketball drops key game to Wisconsin
Michigan basketball just can’t win a close game and here are the gut reactions to another tough loss for the Wolverines.
It’s time to stick a fork in the Michigan basketball team. The Wolverines are done.
If there was any hope of this team putting it together and making a run at the NCAA tournament, it likely ended with four missed free throws and an awful turnover by Dug McDaniel.
Michigan basketball wasn’t going to win the game most likely when it was down 61-57 with 24 seconds left. But McDaniel dribbled the ball up the floor, got it stolen and that was it.
Dug also missed a key free throw that could have tied the game late in the second half. Hunter Dickinson missed one too and when Will Tschetter when to the line with over a minute left, Michigan was down two. The sophomore missed both and the Wolverines lost another very winnable game 64-59.
Wisconsin didn’t score in the last 10 minutes of the game and still won. Here are the gut reactions.
Gut reactions to Michigan loss vs Wisconsin
- This is a wasted season.
- The inability to recruit a point guard continues to kill this team.
- Michigan can’t win close games. Missed free throws and offensive rebounds were the culprit tonight.
- Hunter Dickinson wasn’t good enough. It’s been a theme.
- Kobe Bufkin was spectacular.
- Jett Howard basically no-showed. So did Joey Baker.
- This team had the three best players and held the opponent without a field goal for 10 minutes and still couldn’t win. I love Juwan, but that’s a really bad look.
- This team is headed for a one-way ticket to the NIT and even winning a game or two there is going to be really tough.
- It’s hard to understand why can’t execute down the stretch. It’s painful to watch.
- Not sure how this turns around or what changes next season.
