Nebraska hasn’t beaten Michigan basketball since 2018 and the Wolverines improve to 22-3 overall all-time versus the Cornhuskers.

The Big Red hung around for the first five and a half minutes and actually was ahead until Michigan basketball made its move.

A 14-0 run, that ended up being a 30-5 spurt when it was all said and done. Nebraska cut it to single digits early in the second half, but Michigan would not falter as they dropped the Huskers by 21 for its third straight win.

Here are the three takeaways.

1. Six Wolverines had 10 points or more

All five starters, plus Joey Baker got into the act on Wednesday night. Keisei Tominaga had a game-high 24 for Nebraska, as the Japanese Steph Curry continues to streak in the right direction. Jett Howard contributed 22 for his team high. 18 of those 22 came from behind the arc, where he did his most damage.

Terrance Williams even joined the party with 10. He hasn’t done that since the new year’s day demolition of Maryland. Will Tschetter returned to action for 11 minutes but didn’t get in the scoring column. Hunter Dickinson had the flu but was still good enough to notch another double-double to his resume.

86 of the 93 points came from those six Wolverines in this offensive outburst. Tarris Reed Jr. and Jace Howard were the only two other Wolverines to post points on the scoreboard. Ascending star Kobe Bufkin had another balanced effort with 13, 7, and 5. He is rising faster than dough does on a loaf of bread.
