2. Kobe Bufkin abused Northwestern in the season sweep

Bufkin was a stat sheet stuffer on Thursday night. He put up 35 points in two wins over Northwestern in 2023. He had a steal in the second half that put Michigan basketball on top by 18 and let the crowd know about it after he slammed it home. The sophomore was two assists from securing a rare triple-double achievement.

His improvement from last year has been on full display all season long. When Michigan has three or more players in double figures, they’re chances of winning expand. Whether its Hunter Dickinson, Jett Howard, Bufkin or someone else, that’s the solution to success for Michigan to win ball games.

Dickinson, who was doubled and badgered in the first meeting, had an easier time in this one. Joey Baker carried the load off the bench though. He tied his season high that he set in the Pitt blowout that is looking better and better by the minute. The sharpshooter has now hit seven of his eight threes in two of his last three games.
