Depth needs to be addressed

One theme that continues to come out of the 2022-23 Michigan basketball season is the fact that the Wolverines really do need more depth.

Juwan Howard attempted to add talent via the transfer portal and did land Joey Baker, but Terrence Shannon would have been a game-changer.

However, the transfer portal didn’t work for Michigan and we all know why. Joey Baker has been a positive addition and he scored 11 points. Tarris Reed has a lot of potential and Kobe Bufkin has taken a positive step this season.

Dug McDaniel too has done good things and had a solid game last night in my opinion. This team has to live with those growing pains and with limited ability to add transfers over the offseason, depth is going to come down to development.

Right now though, this team isn’t where it needs to be.
