The latest on Michigan football QB coach rumors, transfer destinations for former Michigan Wolverines, and more in our latest news roundup.

Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh will have to make a new addition to the coaching staff in the coming weeks following the termination of former QBs coach and co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss.

Weiss was fired last week and there are rumblings about some of the coaches that Harbaugh and Michigan football have reached out to.

One of the names is Brian Griese, the former Michigan football quarterback and current quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers.

Some other names have emerged too. Tavita Pritchard is one. He was a former starting QB under Jim Harbaugh at Stanford and has been the offensive coordinator there for the past four years, as well as being a long-time QB coach.

Kirk Campbell is another name to know. He was an analyst under Jim Harbaugh last season but has been an offensive coordinator elsewhere. He’s viewed as a rising star in the coaching business and Michigan football could just stay in house.

Joel Klatt rips NCAA over Michigan football incident

Michigan fans know Joel Klatt pretty well. After all, the Michigan Wolverines played on Fox it seemed like almost every game.

Well, Klatt had some strong opinions on the NCAA this week. Of course, you probably know that Jim Harbaugh is facing a suspension due to taking some recruits out for burgers, meanwhile, as Klatt mentioned, Florida had a $13 million NIL deal set up for Jaden Rashada and crickets.

Clear tampering such as with Jordan Addison has been ignored and pay-for-play under the guise of NIL is happening everywhere. Yet, the NCAA is worried about an impromptu lunch two years ago.

Klatt basically asked why the NCAA even exists and we can’t think of one reasonable answer.

In some other quick hitters, former Michigan Wolverines EDGE rusher Eyabi Okie announced his transfer to Charlotte. He’s following Biff Poggi, his former high school coach there.

Poggi, a long-time assistant of Harbaugh, who spent two separate stints at U-M, also landed former Michigan football player Julius Welshcof in the transfer portal.

Finally, the Michigan Wolverines women’s basketball team dropped a key game to Indiana on Monday night. The 14th-ranked Wolverines lost 92-83 to the sixth-ranked Hoosiers. Michigan is fifth in the Big Ten right now but is two games out of first place.
