Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from rugged win over Minnesota
By Nick Popio
2. Hunter Dickinson carried the brunt of the load once again
With Howard gone, Michigan basketball turned to its number one option and he delivered — 23 points, as he shot 50% from the field. He almost notched another double-double under but wound up one board shy of that accomplishment. Dickinson was also a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe and made the most of his opportunities.
Dickinson will now suit up on Thursday against the Big Ten’s and possibly the nation’s best big man in Zach Edey. This will be a matchup that a lot of NBA scouts will have their eyes glued in on. Dickinson had 22 in last season’s blowout win over Purdue at Crisler. He also added 28 in the loss at Evanston five days prior to that win.
Kobe Bufkin and Dug McDaniel were the only other two in double figures. McDaniel snapped back at those who called for him to transfer following the Maryland loss where he shot 20%.
Bufkin also returned to form after his effort in the Maryland game where he only managed to score a measly two points.
