Michigan Football: Top 3 items on the Christmas wishlist
If Michigan football fans could ask Santa for anything this Christmas, here are the top three things that should be on the list.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Michigan football fans. It has been another great year for the Wolverines who are 13-0 heading into the Fiest Bowl which is less than a week away.
It’s hard to believe but the matchup with TCU is now just six days away. Michigan football will seek its first bowl victory since the Citrus Bowl in 2016.
Jim Harbaugh has ended some streaks in recent years and it would be nice to end this one. We are going to delve into TCU a lot this week, but from a broad perspective, here are the top items on the Michigan football Christmas Wishlist.
A win over TCU
This one is pretty obvious but it’s No. 1 on the list. Michigan football hasn’t made a national championship game in the BCS or later era and it would be awesome to reach that ultimate game.
When the Wolverines won their last championship, they didn’t get a chance to play Nebraska and that was back when split championships were still a thing.
They aren’t anymore and if Michigan beats TCU, it will have a shot to win its first undisputed national championship since 1948.
It would be an incredible achievement but taking down TCU isn’t going to be easy. Max Duggan is a real deal and the Horned Frogs have one of the best receivers in the country too, as well as an underrated running game.
The defense is going to be tested and J.J. McCarthy will need to deliver. It’s hard to ask for a national championship because it’s Jan. 9th, but at the very least, a Fiesta Bowl win would be a great Christmas present.
