Michigan football’s J.J. McCarthy announced some cool work he’s been doing with children’s hospitals, plus Jim Harbaugh’s birthday and more.

It’s not hard to root for J.J. McCarthy as a Michigan football fan.

The five-star quarterback has been incredible for the Wolverines and has already created his own legacy with the win in Columbus and a second straight Big Ten championship, this time with him as the starting quarterback.

J.J. is 12-0 as a starter and is hoping to add to that total in the Fiesta Bowl next Saturday in the College Football Playoff.

However, McCarthy is just a good dude. The NIL money he gets isn’t all about him and on Friday, he announced some of the work he’s been doing with children’s hospitals, making over $30,000 in donations since the 2021 season.

McCarthy is a special player for Michigan football. But it’s pretty clear that he’s a special person too and he’s not alone on this team. Remember Blake Corum and others handing out turkeys to the less fortunate during Thanksgiving.

This team has some special people on it and that’s another reason why it has been easy to root for the Wolverines during this incredible run of success.

Jim Harbaugh’s birthday

In some other Michigan Wolverines news, Jim Harbaugh celebrated his 59th birthday on Friday, and the Fiesta Bowl celebrated by bringing up his two-touchdown performance in a win over Nebraska in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl, a win that would propel Michigan football to a No. 2 final ranking after posting a record of 10-1-1.

Hopefully, Harbaugh and the Wolverines will create some positive momentum in their next trip to Tempe which is in the playoff vs TCU. Harbaugh has coached Michigan football to the Orange Bowl twice, as well as the Peach Bowl. This will be his first trip to the Fiesta Bowl.

Michigan football officially announces seven transfers

The Michigan football program also officially announced all seven of its reported transfers in a tweet put out Friday.

It’s a good sign because it likely means there won’t be any academic hurdles in terms of getting players admitted to Michigan because, in the past, it’s been a headache with transfers, especially if they aren’t a freshman or a graduate.

Next. 5 takeaways from early signing day. dark

Most of the players coming in fit that category but a couple don’t. Still, it looks like it’s all worked out and I would expect Michigan football to look for a cornerback and possibly a running back depending on what happens with some NFL draft decisions.
