Michigan football made one of the best moves in the transfer portal in 2022 and it has once again added what could be a key piece on the offensive line.

Last year, Michigan football landed what has turned out to be one of the best transfer portal additions in the entire 2022 class in center Olusegun Oluwatimi.

Oluwatimi is going to be drafted in the first few rounds of the 2023 NFL draft and could be the Rimington Award winner.

So even though Michigan football isn’t as active in the transfer portal as other programs, the Wolverines tend to do well when they do acquire transfer portal talent and that’s why the addition of LaDarius Henderson, a former Arizona State starting O-lineman, is huge.

Breaking down LaDarius Henderson to Michigan football

Henderson has started 29 career games at Arizona State and has started at multiple positions although Chris Balas of The Wolverine reports that he is expected to compete at tackle.

In 2021, Henderson started all 13 games for Arizona State at left guard and was even the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week for the Sun Devils. He’s listed as 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, and when he started as a guard, allowed just one sack and gave up just 10 pressures.

Michigan football has the best offensive line in college football this season but is going to have some departures such as Oluwatimi, Ryan Hayes, (possibly) Zak Zinter, and maybe more.

You never know how many guys will decide to stay and many have extra years but the Wolverines have a lot of NFL-caliber offensive linemen, so it’s hard to say who will be back.

But adding Henderson will add reinforcement at either guard or tackle for the Wolverines. There are solid players waiting in the wings at every position but the depth was tested this season due to injury and adding a proven starter in the transfer portal is a really good move.

There was talk of Myles Hinton, a former four-star offensive tackle and brother of Chris Hinton, also having interests (is in the portal) and Chris Balas reported he would be in for a visit.

dark. Next. 3 players Michigan should add in transfer portal

Hinton would be another great addition. We’ll see if adding Henderson impacts that potential move, or if Hinton still winds up taking a visit. It would make a lot of sense and if you are an offensive lineman, where better to go than Michigan?
