Two dynamic quarterbacks

Both offenses rely a lot on the running game but another thing Michigan football and TCU have in common is dynamic quarterbacks.

Duggan could have a shot at the Heisman Trophy and during the season, he threw for 30 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions. He also ran for six touchdowns and completed 64.9 percent of his passes.

Slowing him down is going to be key. But forcing him into third and long situations will be important. McCarthy also needs to keep playing the way he has the last two weeks. He did have one bad interception against Purdue (bad decision) but he was incredible on third down and tossed three touchdowns in each win.

Purdue has one of the best third-down defenses in college football and McCarthy led U-M to a  6-for-12 effort on third-down opportunities.

These College Football Playoff games usually come down to which team runs the ball better and gets the better quarterback play.

Defensive lines can have a big impact on which QB plays better but if McCarthy can continue the dynamic playmaking we have seen the last two weeks, then the Wolverines should have a great chance to advance to the national title game.
