On Saturday, November 26th, 2022, Michigan football and Ohio State will face off in Columbus in what is being deemed part two of the game of the century. Both squads are 11-0, and there’s a fairly high probability that the winner of this game is in the national championship game on January 9th.

If you’re a die-hard Michigan fan like myself, you’ve been thinking about this game for the past year. At times, it’s looked like Michigan football is the better team, and at times the opposite has been true. For the first time in a long time, I don’t think one team has a clear advantage over the other.

The betting line is set at Ohio State -7.5 (via Fan Duel) at the time of this writing. If the game were in Ann Arbor I think that line would be more like Michigan -3.5. These are two of the best teams in the nation, and it’s a gift that we get to see them play in such a high-stakes game.

With UCLA and USC joining the Big Ten in 2024, we will likely see divisions abolished within the conference. The two best teams would meet in the Big Ten Championship. That would essentially mean the end of games like this one. With each team knowing they would see each other the following week, there wouldn’t be as much intensity.

If you were Jim Harbaugh, would you rest Blake Corum this week knowing that you’d face the same team the very next week?

Enough with the hypotheticals. In this article, I’m going to analyze how Michigan’s offense matches up with Ohio State’s defense, and how Ohio State’s offense matches up with Michigan’s defense.

At the end, I’m going to give my final thoughts and try to give a prediction. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
