Our staff breaks down Michigan football against Ohio State with a roundtable discussion on the Wolverines and Buckeyes.

There is only one day left until The Game on Saturday, for all the marbles, and the table is set for a showdown of epic proportions in enemy territory.

For the first time since 2006, Michigan football and Ohio State meet up at the end of the season as undefeated teams, with a conference title game in the line, and, seemingly, a CFP berth as well.

Michigan football and Ohio State have both gone through growing pains throughout the season, with a few close tests to get both teams to 11-0.

It will take a massive effort by all units like last year to escape Columbus with a victory against a rival, and some members of the GBM Wolverine’s staff offer you their predictions for The Game in this roundtable.

How nervous were you watching the Illinois game? Did you think Michigan would pull it out in the end?

Jordan: I was confident that the defense was going to give Michigan’s offense a chance. Once we got that chance, I was confident in JJ’s ability to get into field goal range, but not confident we would get to the endzone. About midway through the fourth, I started believing Michigan would win, but between the third quarter and that point, I thought Illinois had it.

Josh: It was the first game all season (and frankly since Nebraska last year) that I felt Michigan might not get the job done. Once JJ McCarthy had the crazy fumbled snap dish to Cornelius Johnson, I knew then that the Wolverines would win.

Nick: My stomach was in knots as the game went on. I believed they could pull it out, but it came with a heavy price.

Cameron: Yeah, on a few of those fourth down plays at the end of the game, those got-to-have-it plays, I thought Michigan wouldn’t get it and we would lose. Thank god Michigan clutched it out but it was way too close for comfort.

Chris: I was very nervous after Corum went out of the game. I really questioned Harbaugh not going for it instead of kicking the field goal down four but he was right and I was wrong. Still, I nearly had a heart attack.

How are you going to watch the Ohio State game? Will you be going to Columbus to see the game in-person, will you go to a bar or restaurant, or chill at home, etc?

Jordan: Although I wish I could go to Columbus rocking my Michigan gear, I’ll be watching the game at home with friends and family.

Josh: I have zero desire to walk into the concrete jungle that is Ohio Stadium. That being said, after moving to Alabama the wife and I will be heading back north to the mitten state to watch with friends and family. As I discussed with my wife: “there’s no way in heck I’m watching this game with Alabama fans!” She’s a good woman.

Nick: I am going to watch the game at home hoping and praying for another win. It’s been 22 long, overdue years since Michigan has gone into Columbus to do that and get that monkey off their back.

Cameron: I will be watching the game at home with friends and family. Probably stress eating the leftover Thanksgiving food, especially this year, with these high stakes.

Chris: I’ll be watching at home. Also praying and freaking out for about four hours.
