The Wolverines are looking to close out the 2023 class strong and speaking of the state of Ohio, Steve Clinkscale and U-M have made a really strong push there.

Not only is there Cameron Calhoun, who just decommitted from Cincinnati but also Jason Hewlett, who was also committed to the Bearcats and re-opened his recruitment this week.

The first is actually expected to come on Friday via three-star linebacker Breeon Ishmail. The 6-foot-4, 216-pounder linebacker is ranked 1,403 in the On3 consensus rankings but he’s an intriguing athlete that could play weakside linebacker.

As we have said before, Michigan football is great at evaluations and these are guys that Steve Clinkscale has known about for a while. Michigan just started making a push, led by Clink and while Kentucky was the favorite for Ishmail, that status now belongs to the Wolverines.
