Michigan football is a top-four team

The Wolverines struggled in the first half against Rutgers and trailed by three. However, they were still able to cover the spread and had their reserves in midway through the fourth quarter.

It was almost a stunning reversal of fortune. I still had confidence that Michigan was going to win at halftime, but I didn’t think the game would be all but over before the third quarter came to a close.

You have to love how the Wolverines are stepping on the throat of opponents in the second half and also, Michigan football went 5-for-5 in the red zone.

We all know the playoff rankings don’t matter and if that Michigan beats Ohio State, it will have nothing to worry about. But the Wolverines deserved to be ranked in the top four in the first batch of rankings and they will be in the top three this week.

Michigan football still hasn’t trailed in the fourth quarter of a game all season. Hell, there has only been one possession (against Maryland) in which the team had the ball with a chance to tie.

That’s incredible game control. Michigan is balanced and frankly, it has passed every test this season with flying colors.

The Big one is in a few weeks but after this week when Clemson, Alabama, and Tennessee all lost, you have to ask, does the committee even watch the teams that it’s ranking every week?

Next. 3 takeaways from rout over Rutgers. dark

If so, Michigan would have never been outside the top four.
