2. Blake Corum has a real Heisman opportunity

In terms of actual rushing production, Blake Corum had his worst Big Ten game of the season against Rutgers, who limited the Heisman Trophy candidate to 109 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 20 carries.

Corum did have a long touchdown run wiped out by a procedure penalty but it was his sixth consecutive 100-yard game and with two more touchdowns, he continued his positive momentum going forward in the Heisman Race.

On a day when Bryce Young was eliminated from the Heisman race and Hendon Hooker took a huge hit, plus C.J. Stroud threw for under 100 yards and struggled, Corum should have as good a chance as anyone with a few games to go.

Caleb Williams is surging but he needs some signature wins over UCLA and Oregon or Utah in the Pac-12 title game to make that happen and it might not be enough.

Through eight games, Corum had better rushing numbers than Mark Ingram, Derrick Henry, and Reggie Bush when they won the Heisman. So if Corum keeps putting up big numbers and Michigan beats Ohio State in Columbus, my money would be on him to win the Heisman Trophy.
