Michigan football is undefeated going into “The Game”

There are some big tests before Michigan football gets to the Ohio State game and none is more important than Michigan State on Saturday.

A loss to the Spartans could derail the season quickly. It didn’t happen last year and the Wolverines rallied to win the Big Ten title. But nobody wants to see Harbaugh and the Wolverines fall to 0-3 against Mel Tucker and the Spartans.

Michigan needs to win that game and if it does, I think they’ll head to Columbus 11-0. Beating Illinois, Rutgers, and Nebraska won’t be easy. Both the Scarlet Knights and Cornhuskers gave Michigan games last season and could again.

But we have yet to see a team be able to stand up to Michigan’s running game for four quarters and I don’t know that we will. Ohio State or whoever is going to have to score a bunch of points and that’s not easy against a really solid Michigan defense.

It might not have as many star players as last year but the Wolverines’ defense leads college football in stop rate and made Penn State look docile in the 41-17 win for Michigan. Last night, the Nittany Lions scored 45.

This Michigan team is built to beat Ohio State just like last year, and we’ll see when that game comes, but I have a feeling it will be a meeting of two 11-0 football teams.
