Donovan Edwards makes a big impact

Last week, Donovan Edwards didn’t make a huge impact in his return from injury. But that’s why I always prefer for a guy to play a game, instead of returning for a big one like Penn State.

Edwards will have shaken the rust off and with people focused on Blake Corum, Ronnie Bell, Luke Schoonmaker, and other weapons in the passing game, I see Edwards making an impact.

Throwing the football to him out of the backfield is always a good idea and I’m just waiting for McCarthy to hit him on some sort of wheel route. At any rate, if there is anything the coaching staff is saving for Edwards, now would be a good time to use it.

This is the kind of game that could be changed on a big play or two. We saw that last season and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Edwards delivered a couple of explosive plays or two on Saturday.
