J.J. McCarthy finally hits a bomb

So far, J.J. McCarthy has been just about everything that Michigan football fans have wanted and even that’s being a little harsh.

McCarthy has been off on some deep shots the past two weeks and some fans, even Fox Analyst Joel Klatt has talked about how that’s the one thing holding the Wolverines back.

McCarthy was still solid against Iowa. He didn’t turn the ball over and threw a key touchdown pass. The one to Donovan Edwards was huge and it’s a play that not many quarterbacks could have made. Cade McNamara, as much as I love him, probably doesn’t make that play.

Indiana isn’t great on defense. The Hoosiers allow 30 points a game and got torched by Nebraska and Cincinnati through the air.

Roman Wilson is questionable and is being called a game-time decision. Losing him would hurt but Andrel Anthony is more than capable of one way or another, my prediction is that McCarthy hits on a couple of deep shots.

Nebraska connected on a 71-yarder last week. So Indiana will be focused on that, but Corum and the run game will lead to some play-action opportunities, and this week, McCarthy connects.
