In a game that the Michigan Wolverines have to win, will they succumb to the moment being too big? Or will they rise to the occasion and handle business in Iowa City?

Michigan football’s schedule thus far: disappointing.

Cupcakes against Colorado State, Hawaii, and UConn buttered up the non-conference slate — at least as far as it was nationally perceived. Then, last week, a matchup with the much improved Maryland Terrapins flipped the national perception on its head.

So now what?

This is truly the first “make or break game” as far as national perceptions are concerned. Though the Hawkeyes have unperformed — and looked putrid at times on offense — the Wolverines enter this week’s matchup against Iowa as a -10.5 point favorite.

On the road in Kinnick Stadium is no joke. The last time we saw Michigan football play at Kinnick was in a 2016 upset, seeing them lose 14-13

Will Michigan football rise to the occasion?

We certainly hope so. And honestly, we here at GBMWolverine.com expect so.

But what reasons do we have for our confidence in a Michigan win? Let’s get into it.
