Big Ten football starts on Saturday for the Wolverines as they host Maryland. Here’s a look at all the key info including how to watch, injury report, weather, and more.

You can almost taste the excitement. It’s definitely palpable as Michigan football gets ready to open Big Ten play on Saturday against Maryland.

Maryland isn’t exactly one of the big rivals that normally gets the juices flowing like an Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, or even Wisconsin.

But the Terps are 3-0 and they certainly present the biggest challenge Michigan football has faced so far in the 2022 season. Taulia Tagovailoa is a legit talent and he’s surrounded by some of the best wideouts in the country.

However, Michigan football also has a pretty good quarterback, one in J.J. McCarthy who will be making his first Big Ten start on Saturday. Yet, he’s played in this conference and made an impact against Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan State, and others last season.

It’s different as a starter though and without Cade McNamara, he’s gotta be more careful, especially when he’s running the ball. The Wolverines need him long-term. Many feel this Michigan football team has a chance to be special. It starts with winning the Big Ten opener.

Here’s all the key info including how to watch, the TV channel, the injury report, and more.

Michigan football vs Maryland Injury report

The Terps are relatively healthy coming into this game but there are a few big names to watch for the Wolverines. Trevor Keegan and Karsen Barnhart are both expected to play. However, Donovan Edwards isn’t a sure thing. Harbaugh said he questionable to probable and it seems like it’s going to be a game-time decision. Nikhai Hill-Green is a starting linebacker that’s also questionable — and backup QB Cade McNamara is out.

Michigan football vs Maryland Odds and Betting Pick Week 6

The line has been pretty consistent this week for Michigan football and Maryland as the Wolverines are favored by 17 points according to FanDuel. The over is 64.5 points and I feel like that’s a good money bet. The Michigan defense is only allowing five points per game but this is the first real test and I feel like the Terps will score around 20.

Michigan’s offense shouldn’t have a problem moving the ball. The ground game has been disappointing but SMU rushed for over 150 last week and with a healthy offensive line, Blake Corum should have a big day.

I’ve got winning Michigan something like 45-20.
