Michigan football will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule against the UConn Huskies and here are five bold predictions.

In less than 24 hours, we’ll have another Michigan football game and while the name on the schedule isn’t necessarily going to excite the fanbase, the Wolverines can’t take it lightly.

Michigan football is a 46.5-point favorite coming into this matchup and it’s a big cover once again. The Wolverines won by 44 the first week against Colorado State and by 46 last week against Hawaii, so it’s certainly possible.

That being said, Jim Mora Jr. is a quality head coach and the Huskies have at least one win under their belt although it was over an FCS opponent of Central Connecticut State.

The biggest question might be about the competitiveness of this game going in, but here we go with five predictions for the Wolverines and Huskies.

J.J. McCarthy dazzles again

I’d love to see McCarthy play a little more than two quarters but if that’s all he needs to play, that’s all he needs to play. McCarthy had just one incompletion last week and it was a drop.

The focus for McCarthy is going to be consistency. Let’s see him take care of the ball and make explosive plays once again. I liked how he was more conservative with the run. Going forward as the starter, that’s how it should be.

I want McCarthy to run, but only when he has to.

As far as Saturday, he’ll throw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. There won’t be an interception or any doubt about who the starter is heading into Big Ten play.
