Where does Michigan basketball stand with Isaiah Collier

While Kante has been a top target for a while in the 2023 class, the No. 1 priority is probably five-star point Isaiah Collier, who is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect according to the On3 consensus rankings in the 2023 class. He’s also the top-ranked point guard.

Michigan basketball has been battling USC, UCLA, and Cincinnati in this recruitment. Collier has said really positive things about head coach Juwan Howard and his offense, as well as his ability to help players reach the NBA.

Collier is out of Georgia but the top contenders are West-Coast teams. Yet, the Bearcats forged a really strong connection with him and some, including Rob Cassidy, a basketball recruiting expert for Rivals, give them the edge.

Cassidy ranks Cincinnati and USC as tied in the spot of No. 1 contender in this recruitment right now. Michigan basketball is third in his view. The Wolverines just took a trip to visit Collier but so did all of the other staffs on the list. He also visited officially this summer.

According to Cassidy, a decision could be coming in the next few weeks and that won’t be a good thing for Michigan basketball if it happens. At least at this point, Collier seems to be trending in another direction.

Juwan is one helluva recruiter though, so you never know.
