Michigan Football: The Good, Bad, and the Ugly against Hawaii
The Michigan football team dominated Hawaii on Saturday night and here’s a look at the good, bad, and ugly from the Wolverines’ win.
Michigan Football is 2-0 going into its 3rd game of the season. After an over hour-long rain delay, with the game starting around 9 pm, the Wolverines finally kicked off their night game against Hawaii. While the game was extremely lopsided, it was entertaining and showed so much promise on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
Most of this game was flawless, but there are a few things that need to be talked about that weren’t so good. So, what was the good, the bad, and the ugly in the 56-10 win against Hawaii?
Good: JJ McCarthy and the passing game
Well, JJ won the starting quarterback job this weekend that’s for sure. JJ was 11/12 for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns. Let’s not forget that was in the first half alone, because Cade McNamara and Davis Warren took the QB snaps the entire second half. JJ looked confident, and poised, and proved himself as the starting quarterback. While it was against an insanely weak opponent, he looked incredible.
Not only did JJ look amazing, so did the receivers.
Ronnie Bell got his first touchdown of the season and had six receptions for 76 cards. Cornelius Johnson had two receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. Roman Wilson stunted out against his hometown team early in the game with a 42-yard touchdown catch. Even our running back, Donovan Edwards had a 33-yard reception.
