The delay didn’t stop Michigan football from rising to the occasion and stomping out a soft opponent for the second straight week at home.

Following an hour-long weather delay, the kickoff for the latest and 12th night game in Michigan stadium history, the Wolverines exploded out of the gates on Hawaii. The Rainbows briefly went three and out and it only took the Michigan football offense a total of 30 seconds to break the seal on the scoreboard and they were off to the races.

Native Hawaiian Roman Wilson found the endzone on two of the first three scores and it was 21-0 in the blink of an eye. In period two the offense jammed it down the throats of Hawaii without much resistance. McCarthy was one drop away from being perfect. Ronnie Bell made up for his mistake on his part as Michigan extended the lead to 42-0 at the half.

Hawaii finally crossed the 50-yard line for the first time in the third when the backups were in. The drive resulted in three and ended the hopes of a second consecutive shutout. Davis Warren entered late in the third and did something that Cade McNamara could not do on the night. He hit Max Bredeson on a 56-yard scamper, that was capped by a C.J. Stokes touchdown run.

Michigan football wrapped it up with a tally of 56-10. Instead of demoralizing the Warriors in the second, they went into cruise control and took their foot off the gas.

The reserves got to live their dreams by participating in a home affair and those are some memories that they’ll get to tell their grandkids about someday that will last a lifetime.

Here are the three takeaways from the assault.
