This offense will be plenty explosive

Last week, Michigan football only generated three plays of 20 yards or more, so even though the offense put up a 50-burger, it felt like there was some work to do.

And on the opening series against Hawaii, it was clear that this offense is still plenty explosive. McCarthy’s first pass of the game went to Hawaii native Roman Wilson for 42 yards and a score and it was one of five pass plays that covered at least 30 yards.

Ronnie Bell caught a 31-yard pass, Edwards caught a 33-yarder and Johnson hauled in the 54-yarder. Max Bredeson also caught a 56-yard pass from backup QB Davis Warren. The offense also had five different ball carriers rip off a run of 20 yards or more, including Wilson who also scored on a 21-yard end around.

Blake Corum was held under 100. I say that because he got 88 yards on nine carries. He also scored a rushing touchdown as did Edwards, C.J. Stokes, and Isaiah Gash to give Michigan football five total as well as 10 plays of 20 yards or more.
