Defense: A

What can we say about the Michigan football defense that hasn’t already been said? The Wolverines flat-out dominated.

Not only did they stuff Colorado State on the ground but the Wolverines lived in the backfield with seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss. The front seven was outstanding. Mazi Smith, Mike Morris, and Kris Jenkins all look like they could play in the NFL right now.

Junior Colson is right there with him and boy, Eyabi Anoma sure gave us something to be excited about. The same can be said for Braiden McGregor, Jaylen Harrell, and Derrick Moore.

I remember Matt Weiss talking about the embarrassment of riches at wide receiver, well the defensive line is starting to feel like that too, especially with Rayshaun Benny, Cam Goode, Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and many others.

Michigan allowed just 219 yards and 3.6 yards per play. U-M took the ball away twice and didn’t allow any points until garbage time. All in all, it’s hard to expect a better effort than that.
