Michigan football will open the 2022 season on Saturday against Colorado State and here are five predictions for the Wolverines.

We are getting closer, Michigan football fans, as the start of the 2022 season is now one day away and that means it’s time for some predictions.

Leading up to Michigan football and Colorado State, we at GBMWolverine have the game covered from every angle, including a chat with a Colorado State expert, reasons why the Wolverines will win, and also some keys for U-M on Saturday.

I also laid out five reasons why Michigan football fans should be incredibly optimistic about this team and in my 30-some years as a fan, I’m more excited than I’ve ever been about a season.

The Wolverines are loaded with talent and are stocked at the game’s most important position. All the pieces are in place for another run at a Big Ten title and here are five predictions for Saturday.

Cade throws for 200, two touchdowns

Everyone is going to be watching Cade McNamara and how he does in his start. Jim Harbaugh announced that J.J. McCarthy will start Week 2 and that it’s still an open competition.

Some fans and pundits don’t like this decision and it could be risky, but Harbaugh’s right that Michigan football has two championship-caliber quarterbacks.

McNamara was a Big Ten championship-winning quarterback last season and he’ll play like it on Saturday. McNamara will show off his improvements and complete at least one touchdown pass of 50 yards or more (maybe to Ronnie Bell).

The Wolverines are going to run the ball, a lot too — we know that, but these wideouts need some run and Cade will look smooth and very much like the starter on Saturday.
