Michigan basketball releases 11-game non-conference schedule
Earlier today, Michigan basketball finally released its non-conference schedule. Fans and media had been wondering for awhile when we would see this, but it’s finally arrive.
There is a little bit of everything on this non-conference schedule, as there is some in-state flavor, national flavor, and international flavor.
Michigan basketball’s schedule features five neutral site games, and games in New York, London, and North Carolina.
Some of the most important games include matchups with Kentucky (London) and North Carolina (Chapel Hill).
Michigan basketball also plays Virginia in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (at home), and plays in Brooklyn, New York in the Legends Classic, where they will face two of the three opponents, either Arizona State, VCU, or Pittsburgh.
Michigan will also face Eastern Michigan (Emoni Bates anyone) in Detroit at Little Caesar’s Arena (the first meeting since 2014) and host Central Michigan and play an exhibition against Ferris State.
Some other home games include the season opener against Purdue Fort Wayne, and home games against Ohio, Lipscomb, and Jackson State.
The Big Ten regular season schedule will be announced at some point in the next month.
Obviously, tip-off times will be announced sometime in the future as well.
Personally, I feel like this is a well-rounded schedule. There’s a lot of tune-up games, but also games against other blue bloods, and games against some moderately decent programs as well. A little bit of everything.
Michigan fans, upon reviewing this non conference slate, what do you think the Wolverines’ non-conference record will be when it’s all said and done? Sound off in the comments below!
