Final game-by-game predictions for Michigan Football in 2022

The 2022 Michigan football season is less than three weeks away and here’s our final game-by-game prediction for the Wolverines. 

In less than 20 days, Michigan football will hit the field for the 2022 season when Colorado State comes to the Big House on Sept. 3.

The wait has been long and a lot has happened since Georgia defeated Michigan football in the College Football Playoff. Jim Harbaugh seriously looked at leaving the Wolverines for the Minnesota Vikings and both coordinators left.

But Jim Harbaugh has always done an excellent job of replacing his assistant coaches. This time around, he hired former Ravens’ assistant Jesse Minter and promoted Grant Newsome when Josh Gattis left for Miami.

There are still questions that remain, such as who will start at quarterback? Where will the pass rush come from? And can anyone on this team replace Hassan Haskins?

We’ll get all those answers in due time.

For now, we’ll look ahead at each game one last time. We offered up a 10-2 prediction this spring. We also recently broke down each opponent by difficulty. Now, we offer our final win-loss prediction for Michigan football’s win-loss record in 2022.

Michigan vs Colorado State: 

The Wolverines will host the Rams to open the 2022 season and they will face a team with a new head coach. Jay Norvell came over from Nevada. It’s not often you see a coach switch teams in the same conference but Colorado State wants to be better in the Mountain West and getting Norvell is a way to do it. The Rams also have a new QB that transferred from Nevada in Clay Millen, but his first action will come against a hungry Michigan football defense.

Cade McNamara will get the start but both quarterbacks throw touchdowns for the Wolverines in an easy win.
