Friday could be a day of mixed emotions for fans of Michigan football recruiting and we break down what lies ahead for the Wolverines.

It’s Dante Moore day and thankfully for Michigan football fans, the wait will soon be over and the five-star QB from Detroit, according to all indications, will side with Oregon.

Moore is expected to announce his decision on Sportscenter at 12 PM EST. So if you’re a Michigan football fan, I’d avoid that station, at that time, because the news isn’t going to be good.

And unless there is a realistic chance of a flip or something actually happening with Moore’s recruitment, this will be the last time we post about it. We followed his recruitment for years and it didn’t work out for the Wolverines.

It’s disappointing but good luck to Dante. Now, let’s go get Jadyn Davis.

A positive trend for Michigan football

It’s no secret that Moore has been trending the wrong way for weeks. But another top target, Collins Acheampong also seemed to be trending away from the Wolverines.

He was originally supposed to announce his commitment on July 1. He pushed that back following an official visit to Miami, yet while the Hurricanes made their push, Michigan football has re-gained momentum heading into Friday’s decision.

According to the On3 prediction machine, Michigan football now has a 96.9-percent chance of winning the EDGE rushers commitment. That was at 73 percent on Thursday and Miami was up at 23 percent before falling to below one.

The trend is also going Michigan football’s way according to 247 sports, as all of the crystal ball projections still favor the Wolverines. There was also a new projection from a Miami reporter, so all in all, things are looking good for Acheampong, who is ranked 269th overall. He’s 6-foot-7, 254-pounds, and drips with upside, very similar to David Ojabo.

We all know how that worked out.

There is also hope that Enow Etta will announce for Michigan football on Friday. Etta tweeted “Friday” earlier this week then deleted it. But if Acheampong and Etta both commit on Friday, that will help wash away the sorrow of Moore and establish once and for all, that Michigan football’s recruiting efforts are better than the perception.
