Get a commitment

We have talked about how Michigan football needs to close with Enow Etta and make an impression but I don’t expect him to commit this weekend.

Yet, the Wolverines should be pressing some others for a commitment and one of those targets should be four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring.

Michigan has been up and down with Herring and it’s been sort of strange. He’s 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, and is ranked 261 overall according to the On3 consensus rankings. He’s also the fourth-ranked player in the state.

Nebraska was trending up but Michigan got him on campus for an official visit this weekend and the Wolverines need to be clear that he is a priority. U-M has a 46 percent chance right now according to the On3 prediction machine but that has a chance to go way up.

Tyler Thompson is a three-star pass rusher that is also on campus this weekend and could be a candidate to commit. He has received a crystal ball projection to the Wolverines too. Four-star OL Evan Link (264 overall via On3) is another to monitor.

Either way, Michigan football needs a commitment. Momentum is nice and the Wolverines have some but they also have to produce some results.
