There are four top-100 targets coming on campus this weekend but the Wolverines are clearly trailing with most of those targets.

However, there is one ranked just outside the top 100 that is very excited about his official visit this weekend and that’s the 2023 edge rusher/tight end Jaxon Howard.

Howard is ranked 103 overall according to the On3 consensus rankings and his official visit is this weekend, while he will visit LSU and Miami after. He’s from Minnesota and the Gophers are also in the mix but he’s been tweeting a lot about his visit and Michigan football has a chance to swing the momentum in its favor — permanently.

Just prior to coming to Ann Arbor for his visit, Howard announced that he will make his commitment public on July 1. There aren’t any predictions for him yet but Minnesota, Miami, and LSU lead with Michigan in fourth according to the On3 prediction machine.

But with his open level of excitement about visiting Michigan and seeing coach Mike Elston, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Wolverines came out of the weekend as the leader.
