3-star DL Saaqiq Clements

Michigan football is bringing in a ton of EDGE recruits in the month of June on official visits and it will be interesting to see how that board shakes out.

But as far as defensive lineman go, one name that could commit to the Wolverines in June is defensive lineman Saadiq Clements, a 6-foot-3, 280-pounder out of Kentucky.

Clements is a guy that could play multiple spots on Michigan’s defensive line and that’s what you want. He’s probably not going to grow into a full-blown nose tackle, but as a three or five-technique, he could be a solid addition up front.

Holland predicted him to land with Michigan in June and that’s why the Wolverines have a better than 90 percent chance to win his commitment too according to the On3 prediction machine. He’s visiting Michigan and Purdue this month. That’s it for now and the No. 798 overall prospect in 2023, as well as the 10th-best player in Kentucky seems like a heavy U-M lean.

3-star EDGE Joseph Mupoyi

The three-star edge rusher and teammate of five-star target Nyckoles Harbor, is also expected to visit Michigan football this month and is another recruit Holland has projected to the Wolverines.

He’s ranked 817th overall out of Washington, D.C. and is 66th among edge rushers. However, he’s got a ton of untapped potential, not unlike David Ojabo, which has been a major selling point.

Mupoyi would be a solid land for Michigan in his own right but it would also increase their chances with Harbor and with a 96-percent chance according to the On3 prediction machine, if the Wolverines want to take him, they should get his commitment.

The official visit he has on June 17 to Michigan is the only one so far and unless that changes quickly, I see Mupoyi possibly ending his recruitment with a U-M pledge.
