Courtney Ramey

Since Michigan basketball has a pair of scholarships, it’s possible that the Wolverines could add a guard too and one of the best options (as a graduate transfer) is Courtney Ramey out of Texas.

Ramey has started over 100 games for Texas and is a solid 3-point shooter, averaging 1.5 3-point field goals per game for his college career and shooting 36.5 percent.

Ramey is a combo guard and that wouldn’t be a bad thing for the Wolverines because they have just three true guards on the roster. The 6-foot-3 guard is also a solid on-ball defender and his addition could shore up needs on both ends of the floor.

However, the risk with Ramey is that there’s a good chance he would start or want to start over Kobe Bufkin.

Nothing is guaranteed at Michigan but unless Bufkin makes a really big leap, it’s hard to see him starting over Ramey and you just worry about fallout.

The other problem is that Duke is an early favorite, so while Michigan basketball should reach out, it doesn’t seem likely that Ramey will wind up in Ann Arbor.
