C.J. Carr needs to be the priority, not Dante Moore
It was posted on Twitter Wednesday morning that Dante Moore was going to have some kind of announcement Wednesday night but nothing came except a picture of a Duck.
Obviously, after his visit to Oregon, that’s a nod to the Ducks, but what does this picture mean? Is that a commitment? Are the Ducks the leader? Notre Dame is still the team to beat according to the On3.com prediciton machine but that percentage dropped from 88 percent to 49.
Oregon and LSU are gaining. However, Michigan football still isn’t. Moore and his father keep saying in interviews that Michigan is right there but I found myself wondering if the Wolverines would even make his top four right now?
I have to assume they would but it seems like a legitimate question to ask. I don’t think Michigan is in the top three. Moore was going to visit Ann Arbor last month and canceled, then went to Miami.
His actions don’t show much interest in Michigan and while some of that has to do with the fact that J.J. McCarthy is going to make it harder for him to see the field early, Jim Harbaugh’s NFL flirtation didn’t help and the entire recruitment seems mishandled.
And as hard as it is to say, it’s time for Michigan football to put all its eggs in the basket of C.J. Carr, who was offered by both LSU and Alabama on Wednesday, in addition to receiving a crystal ball projection to Notre Dame recently.
Losing out on Moore would be brutal. But the QB situation for the Wolverines and the strength of it isn’t helping.
Carr, who is in the 2024 class and is Llyod Carr’s grandson, is better suited to be the QB of the future after McCarthy and it’s time U-M makes him the top priority, not Dante Moore.
