Michigan Football: Another threat for 5-star QB Dante Moore
In the latest news on the 2023 recruiting class, five-star quarterback Dante Moore is taking a visit to LSU. Here’s what it means for Michigan football.
Dante Moore is the top overall target for Michigan football in the 2023 recruiting class and the Wolverines probably aren’t alone in that regard.
Moore is definitely a top priority for Notre Dame, which has thrown everything into its efforts to seal the Detroit King prospect away from the Wolverines.
There were even rumblings that he could commit on his recent visit to South Bend. That didn’t happen and following the news of an upcoming visit to Ann Arbor, Michigan football’s prospects seem to be on the rise with the top player in the state in 2023.
Of course, Notre Dame isn’t the only school that Michigan football needs to worry about in regards to Moore and another that’s trying to gain some ground is LSU.
The Tigers actually have a better percentage chance of landing Moore’s commitments according to the On3.com prediction machine with a 2.7-percent change compared to 1.1 for Michigan.
Those chances could be bolstered by a visit to Baton Rouge later this month which is going to happen according to 247 sports.
Brian Kelly had a relationship with Moore from when he coached at Notre Dame, so there is already a connection to the Tigers and they could be an alternative to Michigan and the Irish.
Michigan is going to have to take advantage of its upcoming visit but the trip to LSU and how the Tigers are able to sway Moore is something to keep an eye on too.
Latest on top-100 offensive tackle
In an earlier post, we talked about another Michigan-Notre Dame battle brewing with four-star offensive tackle Charles Jagusah, who is ranked 35th overall in the On3 consensus rankings.
The 6-foot-6 tackle visited Michigan football and Notre Dame and according to Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, the Wolverines “grabbed some momentum” in this recruitment.
It’s another sign that the Wolverines are trending up but with Notre Dame leading the way with all three crystal ball projections, there is plenty of work to do.
That being said, I can remember Michigan leading Rocco Spindler’s crystal ball predictions for a long time, only to see him wind up at Notre Dame.
Just something to keep in mind.
