5 transfer portal targets that make sense for Michigan Basketball
Terrance Shannon Jr., Texas Tech
Michigan basketball has already been in contact with Terrance Shannon and there’s a good reason because the 6-foot-6 guard from Texas Tech would be a perfect fit for the Wolverines.
Shannon averaged 10 points a game last season for the Red Raiders but he’s a stellar defender and has a defensive rating lower than 96 in each of his three seasons with Texas Tech. He also shoots 35 percent from deep.
Kobe Bufkin could grow into the starting shooting guard role next season but his defense was terrible and he looked lost at times on the court.
Banking solely on his development to solidify the position going forward is asking a lot and even if Bufkin takes a leap and is good enough to start next season, the Wolverines need more depth at the position because Bufkin is the only true shooting guard type.
Shannon is also from Chicago, just like Juwan and while that hasn’t really helped win Howard many recruitments yet, it’s an in for the Wolverines and this would be a solid addition regardless of who stays or goes.
