Former Michigan Football star on the move in NFL free agency

The NFL’s open window for teams to sign free agents has officially opened, and a couple of former Michigan football players have found new homes at the next level.
With NFL teams currently throwing around money to NFL free agents, some players are looking to cash in, while others simply are trying to find another chance or a better fit.
One noteworthy signing is former Michigan football safety Jabrill Peppers inking a one-year deal with the New England Patriots. This news was reported by Adam Schefter earlier today.
Peppers can try to turn around career with Patriots
A former All-American safety, outside linebacker, kick/punt returner, and wildcat QB for the Michigan football, Peppers’ NFL career has been a bit underwhelming. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns but was misused early in his career, as Gregg Williams deployed him as a deep-lying free safety.
Peppers was sent to the New York Giants as part of the compensation for WR Odell Beckham Jr. who was sent to the Browns in exchange for Peppers and a couple of draft picks.
In NYG, Peppers bounced back, getting better looks as a strong safety, deployed closer to the box, and able to play more aggressive, instinctive football, which fits his skillset. This past season, Peppers was a team captain at just 26 years old, but unfortunately ruptured his ACL and was placed on the Injured Reserve towards the end of October.
A couple of other former Wolverines are still available in free agency as well, with G Michael Schofield’s contract up with the Los Angeles Chargers, and S Jarrod Wilson searching for a new home after time spent with the San Francisco 49ers.
