Michigan basketball dropped a very winnable game in the Sweet 16 against Villanova and now, a big offseason awaits and we project who stays and goes for the Wolverines.

March Madness is a curious animal. It can bring you incredible joy and incredible pain, all in a matter of days.

Michigan basketball fans have experienced a lot of both over the years. Since 2013, Only Gonzaga has had more wins in the NCAA Tournament than Michigan basketball and since the start of the 2013 tournament, Michigan has reached two national title games, four Elite 8s, and most impressively, U-M has made seven of the last nine Sweet 16s.

Head coach Juwan Howard is responsible for two of those trips and with everything that happened this season, it feels like quite the accomplishment.

But now, the work of building next year’s roster begins. The Wolverines need more shooting. Other needs will depend on who stays and who goes.

So, before all the announcements are made, which sometimes take a while, here’s a look at who is projected to stay, leave, and transfer.

First things first, we’ll start with the players that we know are leaving for sure, as well as one guy who we think could wind up transferring out.
