Michigan Basketball vs Indiana: Prediction, Odds, TV Channel and Live Stream
Heading into the Big Ten Tournament, Michigan basketball will take on Indiana, and here are three keys for the Wolverines and a prediction.
The postseason officially arrives for the Michigan basketball team on Thursday as the Wolverines open the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 8 seed against No. 9 Indiana.
The winner will take on Illinois on Friday in the quarterfinals but more importantly, the victor will also add a key win to their NCAA resume.
Many people believe that Michigan basketball punched its ticket for the NCAA Tournament with its win over Ohio State, which was the 11th for the Wolverines in Big Ten play and 17th overall.
While the overall number of wins doesn’t sound impressive, five of them are against quad-1 teams and Michigan also has three quad-2 wins. What jumps out the most is that 12 of the 13 losses came against the first two quadrants with the one bad loss coming to Minnesota.
Still, Joe Lunardi has Michigan basketball as a No. 10 seed right now and as one of the last four teams to get a first-round bye which means avoiding the first four in Dayton.
Indiana is the first team out right now, so the Hoosiers have a lot to play for. Michigan, on the other hand, should be motivated too. A loss will leave the Wolverines closer to the bubble than expected and Indiana has been terrible lately, so it wouldn’t be a good loss at all.
And Michigan basketball fans, players, and coaches don’t want to have to sweat out the next few days. At any rate, we’ll break down this matchup and offer a prediction, but first, here’s a look at the odds.
Michigan Basketball vs Indiana odds
According to the odds from WynnBET, Michigan basketball is a three-point favorite against the Hoosiers on Thursday in Indianapolis. The over/under is 136 and the money line is -150 for Michigan and +125 for Indiana.
Michigan Basketball vs Indiana prediction
The Wolverines should have momentum and both Hunter Dickinson and Juwan Howard are back (assuming Dickinson is over his stomach flu). Dickinson dominated the first matchup against Indiana and he’ll need to play in a similar fashion, especially down low against Trayce Jackson-Davis.
The Hoosiers aren’t dead yet though in terms of making the big dance so Michigan basketball can’t overlook Indiana and I don’t think they will.
It would be great for this team to get another shot at Illinois in the quarterfinal round and I have a hard time seeing Indiana pull it together to knock off the Wolverines.
DeVante Jones has been spectacular and I expect guys like Eli Brooks and Dickinson to step their games up in the postseason, which starts with a 79-70 win over the Hoosiers.
