The Wolverines got back to their winning ways on Tuesday night with another requisite win over rival Michigan State 87-70.

Michigan basketball fell behind 11-9 with roughly 17 minutes to go in the first half and determined to open up a can of you know what on their in-state brethren from that moment on.

The Wolverines responded furiously with a swift 14-0 run in the next four minutes to stay on top of the hated Spartans for the rest of the way. They got to exact some revenge for the mistreatment that they incurred in East Lansing about a month ago and here are three takeaways from Michigan basketball’s win.

1. Hunter Dickinson went bonkers

Dickinson averaged about a point for each minute that he played in Tuesday’s home vanquishing of the Spartans.

It will go down as Dickinson’s best game to date in his stellar college career. He was close to 70% shooting on the night and was a rebound short of a double-double in the stat line.

He was a one-man show in what should be his last meeting with the Spartans. Tom Izzo refused to double team him and Dickinson took full advantage of the energy he brought to his teammates in the high stakes win. Michigan State has nobody that can guard him as he proved in both contests this year.

The sophomore got into it with some smack talk to the Spartan bench, which in turn ruffled the feathers of the notorious complainer, Tom Izzo.

Izzo took offense to it, but nothing arose from it. Dickinson more than backed up his smack talk with his play and left Izzo crying to the officials once again.
