Jesse Minter

Angelique Chengelis is one, if not the best, on the Michigan football beat and she dropped another name to know when it comes to defensive coordinator and that’s Jesse Minter.

Minter is currently the defensive coordinator at Vanderbilt but spent the previous four seasons on John Harbaugh’s staff with Mike Macdonald. He was also mentioned as a guy last year when Michigan had openings in the secondary.

Minter worked with defensive backs in Baltimore and prior to that, spent four seasons as a DC at Georgia State. He also was the DC at Indiana State and as luck would have it, he worked at Cincinnati at the same time as new D-line coach Mike Elston under Brian Kelly.

Minter makes a lot of sense, not only due to his experience in the NFL and college but also because of his Ravens background which should make the system very similar. He’s also been a play-caller multiple times in his career and Michigan is a big step up from Vanderbilt.
