3 Predictions for Michigan Basketball against Michigan State
A high-scoring affair
It’s always fascinating when Michigan basketball and Michigan State meet on the basketball floor and while Tom Izzo and Juwan Howard are both known as more defensive-minded head coaches, this game it’s going to feature a lot of scoring.
I think Hunter Dickinson is going to play well and that’s going to lead to a solid day for the Wolverines offense. Michigan has hit 1.1 points per possession in each of the last four games and I expect that to continue on Saturday at least be close.
Michigan State is also 7th in the Big Ten in scoring and the Spartans are going to be able to take advantage of some of Michigan’s youth both in the halfcourt and in transition.
The Wolverines defense has improved but Michigan needs to prove it against the Spartans. There will be some bumps along the road, yet Howard gets his first road win against the Spartans and Dickinson gets another defining moment.
Final score: Michigan 77, Michigan State 74
